Moonlight Milk and Brave Cookies

Olivia Hawthorne designed this recipe to go along with the Brave Cookies when Bobbie was very young and having night terrors after his father’s death. The spices and coconut milk combine to create a warm and soothing drink as a balm against night vapors and has the added benefit of being good for digestion. The perfect accompaniment to Brave Cookies, but you may want to adjust the spices for the little ones, and consider not using the peppercorns, as it is rather spicy.

Moonlight Milk

Turmeric paste:

1/2 cup water

1/4 cup turmeric

Combine in small saucepan and Stir over gentle heat 7-10 minutes

Store in small glass jar or container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Moonlight Milk Recipe:

1 cup coconut milk

1 TBSP ginger

1 tsp turmeric paste

1 tsp coconut oil

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp coriander

1/4 tsp nutmeg

2-4 whole cloves or 1/8 tsp ground cloves

2-4 peppercorns

1 tsp stevia

Stir, heat over slow burner until it nears boiling. As the edges start to bubble gently, remove from heat, strain and serve hot with sprinkle of cinnamon.
